Two identical, pistol shaped, smooth leather lined gun pockets on each side of the coat large enough to hold a standard size Model 1911 handgun. The snap secured vertical opening of the pocket is just aft of the coat zipper with the main part of the pocket on the side of the coat. The spine part of the pocket is stitched to the vertical seam below the armpit supporting the main weight of the firearm, eliminating both the telltale bulge in the front of the coat and related "pulling down" on the front of the coat. Each of the identical pockets is large enough to carry a spare magazine, handcuffs, mini-Mag light or other accessories. It's not a true holster, but tests with large and small handguns showed no tendency for excessive handgun movement or exit during running.

Our Pop's Leather Law Enforcement-FFDO Style Gun Pocket option has two identical oversized, ballistic nylon pockets on each side of the coat large enough to hold a large frame pistol-locking holster with lock combination such as the H&K® DeSantis® or Galco® Locking holsters and associated equipment inside a generic unmarked bag (provided). The pockets extend about 3 inches past the vertical seam under the arm and are attached to that vertical seam for support. The pocket openings are larger than the Pop's Leather Standard Gun Shaped Pockets accommodating the larger entry profile of the holstered firearm-bag combination. The pocket is sewn into the stitching of the coat under the armpit to support the weight under the arm using the coat structure. This system adds to the two pockets described above a fully integrated ballistic nylon shoulder holster system.
For FFDOs, either the DeSantis® or Galco® FFDO style locking holster, while still still inside the provided generic bag, will attach to the harness distributing the weight of the equipment bag to the shoulders. It can either be used as a equipment bag pocket only or a harness supported system.
This system comes with a single generic leather horizontal carry holster and two leather magazines holders, which will hold most pistols with 2-4 inch barrels. The system also accommodates any belt loop style holster (not included.) This system holds the firearm in a horizontal carry position under the arm for effective concealment and shoulder support. The system allows carry of the thumb break holster or magazines on either side, regardless of which type used. (Generic holster will be reversed on the weak hand side but is still fully functional.
